Presenting at Conferences

The Undergraduate Program in Medieval Studies encourages students to consider presenting their work at conferences prior to graduating. There are numerous conferences with undergraduate sections ranging from general research symposiums to specifically Medieval Studies oriented events, two of which are:

  • The International Congress on Medieval Studies at Western Michigan University. This conference has up to three undergraduate sections and typically runs during the first half of May. For more information on submitting an abstract, please refer to their website.
  • Sewanee Medieval Colloquium. This conference is newly-opened to undergraduate submissions, and typically runs the first week of April. Please see their website for more information.

The Program in Medieval Studies offers funding for travel and research, so if you do plan on submitting an abstract to either the above conferences or another undergraduate symposium be sure to check out our website's section on Travel & Funding.
